Very inspiring! I'm on the verge of graduation and I've been spending a lot of time panicking about what to do next. I have to remember that there are many options!

I always said freedom would be not having a 9to5 job. Turns out i'm lucky if i only work 8to8 now :P

My ramen noodle years became a game of how i could fancy up a meal of noodles and what i could do to make them more "gourmet". I still get a craving for them on occasion.

Wow, Badur, you've never had a 9 - 5? That's amazing. One summer, after a particularly devastating job loss (layoffs being frequent in the non-profit world, where political whims change), I went to 40 interviews! It was gruelling. It took me a lot longer to realize that if I was going to have no security, I should at least be in charge of my own destiny. There's nothing wrong with Ramen noodles if you're doing what you love.

The information you've shared with me and, I'm sure with lots of others, has really helped in trying to make the jump into entrepreneurship. Most people very, very private with this stuff, especially when it comes to money. It really helps to have an idea where to start.

And I agree with your comments about sharing actually helping. The new company I'm launching in a bit over a week is based around a single app engine, which any competent programmer could copy, and which is, itself, built on top of a bunch of code Google shared. For me, the data is the valuable part of the business at this point, and I've told a bunch of people exactly how I generate that.
